VCD's w/audio for family slideshows
Guys,
I have been messing around with various programs trying to see which one suits my needs best but I am still stuck on one thing. I can get several programs to burn VCD's but some will only allow me one audio file per CD or others I don't know if it will allow me. I have over 800 images from my sony digital camera so I want to make some slideshows for my family. Here is what I have tried: VCDeasy: Not easy but I have had trouble using it in win2k becuase of ASPI drivers. I installed ASPI for win2k and it still won't recognized the writer. In Win98se I have made one CD but I am still confused as to how or if I could install audio. The program is good but very hard to navigate HP Memory disc: This software came with my new scanner and is nice but I can only attach one audio file per CD. I put like 150 pics on one CD and the same song just repeats itself which kind of defeats the purpose. NERO: This actually is the easiest and the fastest. I can burn a cd within a couple of minutes but don't think there is an option for audio. I didn't see a problem with the video quality as this looked just as good as any other program. EZCD platinum 5.0: I have this program but have not tried it yet. Maybe someone could comment on this as this will be my next test. There is a photo album software that does the exact same thing as the programs above, but I am not familiar with it. Could someone let me know what I could do to get some audio in the slideshows as this would complete what I want to do. Thanks Edrod13

Have you tried making a Powerpoint slide show? I've never tried to do exactly what you are trying to do, but creating a slide show and using the Pack and Go Wizard might be what you want.

For a photoVCD I believe the best you'll get is one song. I guess the easiest way to go would be to create an audiofile that is long enough for you that you can use on the VCD. You can download a program like Goldwave (www.goldwave.com) and edit together a few songs and use that. Now keep in mind the larger the audiofile, the fewer photos that will fit on a photoVCD.

Thanks guys,
This project has become very time consuming but hopefully the end result will make it well worth it. If you guys think of something else let me know. I will try your suggestions and post back my findings. Thanks Edrod13 |

I use Ulead DVD pictureshow http://www.ulead.com/dps/runme.htm
It creates VCDs as well, uses almost any form of sound file, and will loop the file too. Am extremely pleased with it. |

Adobe Premiere works great - though very $$$ I've done what you want with 2 or 3 songs.

I started off with Goldwave and think I have found something that will work. It is very easy to combine various MP3's and make them one big song. In a few days I will start making the slideshow. I just wanted to thank all of you.
