Pissed click'n design cd label software

when I try to import a background image it just won't import it even from it's own catolog.
backgroung images are not showing themselves properly ie:the images selected don't show up in the scroll windows
operating with windows xp - over 700 memory - 40gig.
all the other image programs i checked on windows seem to operate properly.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times with no chage in the way it behaved. need help.
just prior to this the windows kept adding searching for and adding new drives to the human interface devices, could this be connected? help.
