What type of music do you plan on making? If it's electronic I could give you some suggestions (some of which were given to me as well) for what software is out there (if that's the route you plan to go).

not really but i could try it. i never really liked eletronic music that much. i will listen to it but its just not one of my favorites. i mostly wanna just mix, resample, and make my own beats and samples. but i wanna learn to do the more complicated things like what producers do in studios.

Those suggestions I would like to hear. I have been looking into making electronic music and would be interested in some advice on where to start.

Thanks,
Tireman

Audio software like Reason only gets more expensive. I am going to build a PC for my brother, who is starting a music studio, so I have been doing some research into this. If you are going to do anything more than slap a bunch of loops together, you are going to pay for it.

Yep, I agree. On the low end if you want to work with loops, check into eJay software, www.ejay.com, or fruityloops, www.fruityloops.com. I've used some of the eJay programs and after a while they become limiting, which is one reason I've been checking into Reason (if that made sense). Reason is more expensive (not loop based either). It goes for around $200 I think. HTH
