avi encoding

hi, i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a good avi encoding software that will change avi files into mpeg1 or mpeg2 files.

Try TMPGEnc:

I know it has a trial period on mpeg2, not sure on the others though. Hope this helps.

i tried it and the files i'm trying to import say they aren't supported. i'm using avi files i downloaded off djpmix.com

What type of files are these? Are they movie files or audio files? Are you sure they didn't use some sort of compression on the files (maybe divx etc...)? HTH

I have used nero to convert avi to mpeg(VCD) and although it takes a while it works fine
