Hi guys, just about done with my first build, I used an old 24x cd-rom just to get started. The problem is that I don't have a disk with its drivers. I read that I could create a sytem disk that had that stuff on it...The only thing that confuses me is that the last time I installed XP pro on two of my laptops, I never had a problem with anything like that. Will xp know and not care about the drivers for that cd rom?

Hi natebo,
You don't need to create a bootdisk, just set the CD-ROM drive as first in the drive boot sequence and boot directly from the CD. Hope that helps. |

XP should notice the drive without them. This is if you are just wondering if it will work or not. As for it working to install XP then just do what Dr. Z said.
