Smile audio cd copy to floppy

Question to anyone who can help, would appreciate it. Problem:
Trying to load music onto floppy for insertion into Casio keyboard floppy drive. (keyboard as in electonic music) How or what do I use to copy a song onto a floppy. Can I download a song from a cd onto a floppy? Or is this all midi language and should I have to investigate that area? I am not confortable with all of the midi jargon and cannot follow that angle. Thanks for your help. Terrancea.

Hi terrancea, welcome to the PC Mech forums!

As far as I know, most keyboards use MIDI files, so an audio CD track wouldn't work. Plus, it would be too big to fit into a floppy disk anyway.

I think abot your only option is going to be to hope the keyboard has an audio-in to record the songs onto the floppy. Kinda suprising they don't just add a CD drive onto the keybroads, or for that matter, why not a CD-RW drive?

Midi keyboards cannot use/create MP3's/wav's. They are made to manipulate electronically created files...aka midi's. I have never seen a keyboard that does otherwise.
