zone alarm

hello
i uninstalled zone alarm from a windows 98 machine and now it wont allow me into windows it says vs data 95 vxd missing i obviously removed a system file when i removed zone alarm. is this file on the 98 disc? if so how do i reinstall this file from safemode?

Go to Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Information. Then under the Tools menu Run the System File Checker and see if it can still get it since you will not be able to use the cd drive.
And then install Sygate PE if you need a firewall.

Reinstall Zone Alarm in safe mode, then to uninstall it, follow the directions on the Zone labs website.

well i removed zone alarm before this computer was online,i was having problems connecting and i removed this before phoning tech support,can i still go online in safe mode .or do you have to do in normal windows.

Read the uninstall instructions there - you probably just have to do some registry editing which can be done in safe mode to get rid of the error.
