Divx
I'm looking for software that enables me to create Divx Rips from DVDs. What's the best one to look for? While we're at it, I'm also looking for information on the steps to go about doing it.

It's only legal to copy DVD's for a backup for your own use. The only legal reason to make a Divx rip is so you can play the DVD from your hard drive. Any other use is a copyright violation and is against the law. According to our forum FAQ, discussion of how to break the law is not permitted on these forums, so this thread is a very gray area.
