skip remover

I have a problem. A lot of my tracks have skips in them, even tracks directly off a *fresh* CD. Normally I can open a wave editor and delete the skips, time consuming but int he end it isn't noticable. However, some of the skips are at different times in the two channels.

At one time I had a program which was supposed to remove skips, however that was a long time ago. Now I have wave editors.

I have Creative WaveStudio and Nero Wave Editor.

Any suggestions?

TIA, Logan

If you are ripping, try lower the speed. Should give less jitter. Check your Digital Audio Extraction (DAE) speed.

I mean, it might be better to cure whatever is causing the skips, if you can, than to just fix them.

Respectfully,

Thansk for a reply, however I'm not ripping these, a lot of I have D/L'd. The last CD I bought had the same skips, but that is another subject.

I believe that Exact Audio Copy has a feature that can remove skips from audio files. It isn't always perfect, but the times I have used that feature it has made a significant difference.

EAC also helps reduce skips in the first place by continually reading sections if it encounters errors until it gets it right. It may take a long time, but I have been able to successfully get audio without skips from some of my worst CDs. You may want to use EAC for ripping in the future if you rip your own CDs.

EAC should prove to be useful.

Any ideas on how to make all my .mp3s have the same volume?
