volume leveling

Is there any free program that will preform volume leveling? I know MMJB will do this, but I would prefer free instead paying to use this feature. I think WMP9 should do this too, but how can you make volume leveling permanet?

TIA, Logan

Took me forever to find a prog that did just that. MusicMatch is the only one I've seen that does it, unfortunately.

If you are talking about normalizing, then almost any good burning software will do this. I use Nero and the normalizing feature works very well. I generally use a setting of 15%.

Colonel Sanders, do you mean volume leveling on the burned CD or music files on the HDD?

It would be nice to have on the hard-drive, I don't plan to make many audio CDs(MP3 player, love it).

It seems to me that most audio utils should handle normalizing. I have used Audiograbber before. It is shareware, but is rather nice and does what you want.

Respectfully,
