Angry Fire Internet Explorer

my Internet Explorer recently quit loading pages. i went to download latest version ( Internet Explorer 6 ) and got a small file to connect me ( ie6setup ) to site to get IE 6 and when i try to connect to site for download it won't connect to server. i recently got an auto-update from Microsoft and thats the only changes that's been made to any files on computer.

Look in Add/Remove Programs, highlight Microsoft Internet Explorer/ click the remove button then select the repair option and see if that will get it back to normal.

Oh yeah, Welcome to PcMech!

I had similar problem a few weeks ago after installing I.E6 and the only way I found to correct the problem was to uninstall I.E6 (add/remove programs) and I installed I.E5. no problems since. I am running win M.E. but I remember having the same thing happen with win98 a while back.

I was always told that if you really don't need the upgrade of IE than don't do it. When I was running Win98 SE or Win Me I was unable to run IE6 at all. Stay with 5.5.

I've uninstalled IE6 from a lot of my customers' machines still running 98 to fix a lot of problems. IE6 seems to work well on 2K and XP, but with 98 it's a crapshoot - it either works well or totally sucks.
