norton av

looking for thoughts on norton 2003 av software,

in the past I have found that you get free updates of the virus data, then it expires and they want you to buy a subscription to be able to contimue useing it,

I don't want to pay that much money for the software for just a tempory use of it.

also can I use it to check for vir on any other system than my own

I have NAV 2003 on all of my machines and I like it. You can continue to use the it after subscription runs out you just won't be able to get the definitions updated.

If you want free virus protection there are some free ones out there. I'm not familar with any of them but I hear god things about AVG, I think it is.

I think your Norton License is good for one computer. There are several online scanners that do a good job if you just want to check someone's computer.

Norton 2003 Pro comes with a 2 machine license. AVG is an excellent freebie.

well, I guess I will not buy another copy of norton again for that one reason, I don't think I should have to keep paying for it all the time,

I have been playing with avg and I am not real happy with it.

it keeps saying that there is a exe virous and that it fixed it, but it does that every time I run it.

trends online test finds nothing.
I don't belive avg because of that.

also have pccillian that came with mb but not able to update the diffantions with that eather,
I am beginning to feel that they are just trying to bleed more money from us all the time, and I am getting disguested frok that.

Are we losing sight of the fact that it costs money to write software? Programmers don't work for free.
