Question Problems with Java

On Java based websites, any button i click doesn't refresh, like the command doesn't work or something. I have tried reinstalling the new version of Java from the website but this hasn't helped either. What is wrong? I have had a virus recently, could that have done it? If so, what can i do?

I am using WinXP with Microsft IE 6

Thanks

What was the name of the virus? what anti virus software did you use to remove it? Did you check your internet options?
