Sending e-mail as HTML
I've recently started playing around with HTML and CSS to create an internal web site. A newsletter is being created to be sent out to clients and they prefer that it is not sent as an attachment.
I created using HTML but the pictures and border don't show up as it obviously references a location on my system. What's the best way to create an HTML e-mail? Thanks |

Probably the easiest way to create an HTML email is to do it in Word and then use the email webpage function. Mind you there will be numerous attachments (inline attachments) that will go out with the email.
HTH Just a personal opinion - there is nothing more annoying than getting extensively HTMLized emails. I can soften from the stance of having plain-text emails only, because sometimes there are HTML elements that come in very handy (like tables, or font formatting); but having a ton of attachments coming in to create an email is just annoying. I'd suggest that you keep the document simple (use as little files other than the one you are sending as possible) ; remember that not everyone has an email client that will display HTML; not everyone will allow inline attachments; not everyone will appreciate a huge email coming in. |

HTML email is a total faux pas.
Send it as text. I have too many email accounts to even remember, and all my email clients are set to send and recieve ONLY text, so even if you send me html, it shows up as an attachment, No chance of getting a macro virus, or any other hijacking crap that way either. |

That's a good point reboot......was just reading about the e-mail privacy issues with html.
Will set up in word with the pictures and send as such |

There are a few email newsletters I get in HTML that I like, which are small. Others are huge, which really are a drag on dialup.

Just did everything in word...background and pictures then saved as .doc and .html.
Looks pretty good and have the option of sending as either. Thanks for the feedback |
