MS Works 2000 Uninstall
I installed MS Works 2000 by mistake and now I need to get rid of it. I go to the Add/Remove programs utility in the Control Panel and select it to uninstall however all it does is open the MS Works installation wizard, and then it freezes. Any ideas on how I can get rid of MS works without having to reformat and install windows again?

Reinstall Works, then uninstall it.

I can't reinstall it because it freezes at the "Welcome to MS Works - Preparing to load the Install wizard" screen. So I am unable to even start the reinstall wizard. Is there a way that I can manually uninstall it and remove it from the add/remove programs list in control panel?

Sure, just boot to safe mode, delete the folder(s) it's in, and restart.
Take note of any error messages. Search regedit, and system.ini for the errors, and delete the references found. Install TweakUI, and have it remove the reference in Add/Remove. |

Disregard last post. Thanks for your help Reboot, I managed to delete Works.
-One would think that Microsoft would make it way easier to uninstall their software. |

It is easy to uninstall. If it didn't install correctly in the first place, probably because of YOUR system settings, then it won't uninstall.
It's got nothing to do with Works, but rather with something that you've changed in windows. This usually happens because of an anti-virus program running during the install. |
