Question Paint Artist Problem

Hi,
A friend emailed about this:
Quote:
What is a General Protection Fault? PIXRESS dll @0003:1ADF. I was using Print Artist and printing out a calendar and my printer had what I call a seizure....will just sit there and you can't turn it off or cancel or anything else and the only way to get it to straighten out is to turn off the power to it. Anyway, in a fit of exasperation, I shut off main power button to all, 'puter, printer, scanner, monitor and all! Anyway, that fit of temper has cost me! I cannot get back into the program at all. Tried reinstalling program to no effect. Still getting the GPF. Have rebooted many times and cannot find out anything in my glossary regarding problem or what to do about it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Sorry to bother you with it, but you're one of the few people I know that might possibly know what might be the problem and what to do about it.
She has XP on a HP PC. I have instructed her to use the XP restore function that did not work. I think that means a XP file is corrupted, is that correct. She has uninstalled and reinstalled Paint Artist that didn't help either. Being an HP it has a restore disk instead of a regular XP disk. I believe that doesn't have the fix feature the regular XP install disk has. Does anyone know what maybe wrong here.
TIA
