I'm looking for ways to increase it by adjusting either windows xp itself, or by adjusting the software involved with the video card, a geforce card ti200 64mb.

Run the game at lower resolution and/or start turning off effects in the driver settings.

Whats that trick to "window" a game again?? I think you go to the games Original location, right click on it, hit properties, and you change the file location to something like

"C:\something\like\this\gamehere" -w

that little "-w" windows it, which means it wont be full screen, but instead a smaller window, I play WC3 and it sometimes gets choppy in the big battles, and I used that windowed trick and it seemed to perform a little better, but I only did it once, so of course I forgot... I hope that helps.

AVX487. yea, I have a costomer with a choppy game, i'll suggest you solution, as well as all the others posted here. I came up with some other ideas myself, including lowering the refresh rate, turning off background programs, lowering the color resolution from true color. Thanks all.
