Can you share any organizational tips to better manage data files and program files, using default folders or not when downloading, and any other issues that are important to not loose track of all information? Thanks.

Not quite sure what you mean...but I always save my personal data to a different partition than the one I keep the OS on.
I keep a separate directory for downloads. Cricket

What if I don't have another partition? Any other ideas? I mean file management. So when you are looking for a file you created 6 months ago you can find it with minimal effort. Thanks.

usally the my documents folder is a good place to put them and you can make sub folders if you need more.
