Actually it is pretty handy. I use it with CDRWs to make quick backups and to burn data CDs for myself. It allows you to just drag and drop files directly to the CD.

Do you have to install it if you use Win XP?

InCD is Nero's equivalent of Roxio's DirectCD. It's used to format CD-RW disks for direct file copying. If you install it on XP, you have to disable XP's built in burning service.

I find it easier to just use XP's built in software, the InCD has to load everytime the computer starts, and I like to have as little as possible running on my computer

You don't have to have it load on every boot, only when you are going to use it. So you actually will have less running by using it if you disable the Roxio software built in to XP. IMO it burns better CDs than Roxio does.

In CD along with my new CD-RW has been a great addition to my PC. I am very heavy into photography and have thousands of digital photos. These photos were taking up over 800mgs of space on my hard drive.
Incd permits me to use a CD as a floppy disc so moving the photos to a CD and beinging able to edit them right from the disk is a gawdsend. I do not keep Incd running all the time, when I need it I turn it on. But do take note. If you try editing a CD without InCD turned on you can damage or loose data saved on the CD. That has happened to me on two occassions. On one such occassion I lost a considerable number of irreplacable photos.

You do not have to turn off XP's inbuilt burning system. InCD will function perfectly even with the former running. I use it almost every day and it works perfectly.
Th real point is a 600 MB floppy disk. NPP |

And don't forget that Ahead InCD also supports Mount Rainier, so if you have a Mount Rainier capable burner you can use InCD as Windows XP does not support Mt. Rainier natively yet.
