Trouble with a Game on a Partitioned Win 98 Drive
Hi Guys,
A freind has a 2 partition HDD (10Gig - split 2/8). having installed an Eidos game (Champ Manager 4) to his data drive D:, he cannot save games as it insists on trying to save to C:, where there is no directory set-up for it !! he contacted Tech Supp @ eidos and they said the only solution was to Fdisk and format into a single drive. He has tried installing to C:, but says he has not enough disk space. Using partition Magic is not an option as neither of us have it. Do you think that if he creates the directory that CM4 wants to save to it will be a work around? your thoughts and comments are welcomed....... TIA Steve

I agree dr,
I can't understand why they would programme the software to only be installed on the C: partition. I have advocated for years that people should partion their drives to keep the O/S away from their own files, just incase they have to do a format and re-install. |

I don't see why creating the directory wouldn't work. If you're adventurous, do a registry search for the directory that it wants to create and change it to D.

Thanks Hal,
Might look into that if, creating the directory on C: does not work. |
