Question Outlook 2000 spell check question?

my friend has outlook 2000 at her work and she can't get it to check her spelling errors as she types. Now I told her to go to tools/options/mail format. I told her to check the box that says use Word to edit email messages. She told me that the box wasnt there. Instead, it is in the pull down menu for what format to send the email in. How does she go about making so that she can have Outlook check her spelling and capitalization while typing a message? Thanks.

I know she can go to tools/options/spelling tab and choose check spelling before sending, but I don't know of an option to check it while she is typing the e-mail.

Shortcut key F7 does the trick whenever I want to spell check something quick.

I had this happen before and there are a couple of reasons that the normal option to have Word check the document is either missing or grayed out. Either Word is not installed on the computer, or in my case, Word was installed but not spell checker. I had to get the disc that came with my computer for the Office applications and install the spell checker. It was not installed by default and was considered an "extra." Once this was installed, the option to turn on Word spell checker in Outlook was available.
