Question Movie Editing Package

I want to get into compiling some home videos of soccer games into a highlight film for my team for the end of this season. I'd like to chop them to music.

I'm looking for a package that comes with a RCA-style video input and some decent software. I saw a Dazzle station that had this input and plugged into USB. Is that the best bet for a cash-conscience consumer like meself?

Any thoughts on the ease or difficulty of the task at hand? My specs ok for video editing?

Thx

Check if Pinnacle Video Editing 7 or 8 has the feature you want.

If you are talking about the computer in your sig it is a little slow but it should meet the minimum most software packages require. I have a friend that uses one of the Dazzle Creation Stations to convert his home movies into DVD's and it works very well. It is pretty slow but it is pretty much self contained. The software that came with it is pretty decent but not the full version so budget in for better software. Pinnacle 8 runs about a hundred dollars or so and works pretty well.

As you can see by the comp in my sig, I have a limited amount of cash to expend. The Dazzle Station seems fairly affordable even if not full version.

I'm basically wanting to put video-taped soccer hi-lites to music, and maybe add some still-frame digitals in as well. Later, I may start compiling home movies of the kiddies I'm assuming that's pretty standard for an editing software.

Does it burn movies to CD-R's but make them playable in standard DVD players (that sounds like a dumb question now that I've typed it...)? I don't have a DVD burner...

Thx.

I saw in a thread by Bailey that others recommended to him Pinnacle software also. Is Pinnacle JUST the software, or does it come with RCA style inputs as the Dazzle Station does?

Any answers to above posts also (Does either or both software products burn to CD-R but playable in DVD? Can they put clips to music easily?)

TIA

I was just getting the software, but if you get the delux it will come with the capture card also.
