Talking Good Imaging tool

Hi everybody!

I have a question reguarding some Imaging software. (You know the stuff that you use to image a hard drive) Anyway. I can creat a full backup using Nero Burning Rom It claims i need 16 cdr's for that and i have a 10Gig HD when i have only used about 4 gig of it. I know that 16 cd's is 10 gig but my hard drive isnt even full so it would be wasting space on the cd's and put nothing on the last 8 or 10 or so. Is there a program i can get where it will just image my data and not unused space.

I use ghost too. But what I did was instead of backing it up to a bunch of CD's, I just got a used 3.2GB and ghosted to that. That way you don't have to span all those CD's and you also can do the restore without waiting around the computer to change the disks every few minutes.
And for just a basic windowsXP image you should be able to get it on 2 CD's.

That's a ggod point. I don't actually make iage files I make a complete copy of the partition to another hard drive. It's faster and I think it's more dependable.

I use Drive Image Pro - I backed up my whole C partition (Win2K, 8 gigs data, P3-800, 24x burner) to 9 CD's last night in about 1 hour.

www.directdeals.com has 2002 Ghost for $16.00 and 2002 Drive Image 6.0 for $26.00 if you don't have either.

To me Drive Image is superior and easier than Ghost.
