weird error message from photoshop 6.0

i just installed photoshop 6.0 on my system and when i try and start the application, it says:

Photoshp.exe - Application Error

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application.

I would just try repairing it (if that is an option) in add/remove programs. Next, I would try to uninstall it, then reinstall it.

Btw, might I suggest that you compress and/or crop the image? It's a killer on dial-up.

Try using a prog called RegClean and remove the Adobe Photoshop entry in the registry.

Do you have plug-ins installed for photoshop? Are they compatible with your version of photoshop? That may be something else to check on.

When you reinstalled photoshop, did you have any other adobe progs open? (ie - acrobat reader) If you do, close them.
