Hi,
I would like to know if some one can assist in recovery of email ? I recently hhad a error with PC, possibly virus related, however, in order to overcome this, I just replaced my HDD. All ready to go again, installed Office2000 again, using MS Outlook for my email SW. I set up my old HDD as a slave, run Norton Annti virus and claned up the disk. now I attempted to restore MS Outlook files, however could NOT do an import, as there was no '.PST' file. I know the files are there however, without them being '.PST', I can not figure out how to recover the mail. Will some one know which files under C:\Program Files\Office\Outlook.... I would access to try and recover my email ? To Date I have loaded MS Outlook again, but NOT accesses Internet to retreive any new mail. Am I able to copy files from my old HDD in the repective folders on new HDD and MS Outlook should use these once copied in ?? Thanks Tony V |

Did you actually have your emails in a PST file?
If so, it should be wherever you left it. However, if you were using Exchange, and used the offline settings, then I think you'll find that they were stored in an OST file. However, you should be able to retrieve them again from the Exchange server and carry on like before. I am guessing you were stand alone and storing in a PST file though? If so, perhaps just do a search of the entire disk for any files matching *.pst and see if you find it like that? HTH, David. |
