How to save an audio program to hard drive from internet

Hi,

I am wondering when I am listening to a program on the internet if there is a way to save it to my hard drive as I am listening to it so that I can later burn it to a CD. I have Windows XP Home Ed. I have a P-3 500Mhz processor with 512 MB RAM. I connect to the internet via Bellsouth DSL. Thanks.

From the developer: "Absolute MP3 Recorder is a software-based solution allowing you to record the sound of your PC directly to an MP3 file. No hardware, no wires, no drivers. You can record the sound live in MP3 or any other codec you have installed on your system. Program events like you do on your VCR to record online broadcasts."

Hi,

I have tried "Absolute MP3" and have not been able to get it to work. I have written to Techlogic regarding my problem and I am waiting for their reply. I was wondering if there are any other similar programs that I can try. Thanks.

The problem is that the program appears to record in manual as it states "recording" in red letters on the bottom right of the screen, but when I click on play I get the message "error playing last recorded file." I have tried different settings in the select input and select recording formats always keeping them matched. I have also tried different record sources after "wave" didn't work. I still haven't heard from techlogic and there is no info on their web site. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Here is one you can try: http://www.bluechillies.com/details/3954.html It is a Shareware program but it will do what you need. I have used it before, it is very simple. You put the music servers address in, set a download folder and click Rip!. HTH

I would recommend Blaze audio's Power Record. You can get it as a 30 trial demo, and if you like it, then it is only $19.95. I have it and it works great. Just be sure to down load the lame codec's for the mp3's to encode.

hi,

Thanks. I'll give Blaze's Audio Power Record a try. Where can I download the lame codec's from and is there a cost for them?

There is a thread on the blaze audio site that will direct you to them. They are a free D/L . I think you will be very happy.

Good Luck

Have you heard of ACE-HIGH MP3 Recorder or Easy MP3 Recorder (I think AKA Audio Record Wizard) and which is better. Thanks.
