Nero Burning Rom/Incd

I am operating under Windows ME on a 1.4 athlon processor with a TEACCDRW516EB.

I can copy cds and make audio cds but when I try to make data cds with the burner or use a rewritable cd with Incd, it failsalbeit it has accepted the CD-R or CD-RW as okay.

Any ideas.

Have you tried updating to the newest version? If you don't already have it.....Nero .

InCD is known for not being 100% reliable. It can cause problems such as yours regardless of the drive or media used.

As useful as the program is, I decided to stick with nero burning rom and cdrws for making regular backups instead of using InCD, because of its unreliability.

ive had problems burning with certain discs on nero, like memorex with the white tops, 48x. but other than that make sure its up-to-date. i have to agree with mickey tho, just stick with nero an not InCD as it is unreliable.

Thanks Guys, I'll take your advice and forget Incd, however I still can not burn data cds using nero burning rom. There appears to be full activity (no flickering of activity light) shown on my pc but locks at 1 min 40 secs into burning (usually about 7% burned(reads ok).

Hmm strange.

If this happens whilst copying a cd, have you tried another cd to copy? If you are writing straight from your hard drive, try some other information.

Hope this helps.

There is a very good alternative to InCD and DirectCD - it's FileCD from NTI. It lets you format your RW's in either UDF or ISO. It's not free, it costs $19.95, but you can download a trial version from www.ntius.com . It is compatible with Nero as long as you uninstall InCD.

For making exact copies of CD's, neither Nero or Roxio's cd copier is reliable when copy protection is involved, you would need Clone CD or another raw sector copier to make a backup copy for your own use, and even those have problems with advanced copy protection schemes.

when ever you burn using nero dont do anything else on your computer cus youll get buffer under runs. i think u need like all the resourses or something, but then again ive done alot of stuff while burning with nero and got buffer under run like 10 times and the cd still came out fine. what kind of media are you using? have u tried nero express yet? its catagorized nicely so that u dont get problems like mixed data when you dont want it.

Buffer underruns won't be a problem if your burner has Burnproof or some other flavor of buffer underrun protection.
