Access 97 and XP

The job uses office 97, I have XP and 97 myself at home, but only XP installed.

If I am going to make changes to this 97 access database via vpn
should I convert back and forth to and from XP or would it be safer to just install 97, of course this leads to the question, to install an older version do I just install to a different folder than office xp.

Access is not compatible across versions, unlike Word and Excel. I'd install Access 97 to a separate path.
