Installing DLL's?

I had some problems with IE so I ran Ad-aware and SpyBot. It found some files and got rid of them. I use CuteFTP (the free version with Tripod banners), and I lost advert.dll. I got that file back, but it says it isn't installed correctly. What should I do?

Uninstall and then reinstall the program and see if it works.

Some programs that come with adware no longer work if their spyware capability is disabled by a program like AdAware or Spybot.

I have a list of saved sites with passwords that I really can't loose. Will reinstalling it get rid of those?

Reinstall the program over the top without an uninstall.
