I got an LG DVD and I thought it was multiregion but PowerDVD popped up asking me to select a region and it told me I can only change the region 5 times before the region becoming unchangeable.
Is there a way to play any DVD I want? Most of the DVDs here are region 4, but I have several that are region 1. TIA for your help.

Is this related to PowerDVD or to the drive itself?

Probably both, Older DVD's seem to be region free, more often than not. Newer models have region coding in the firmware.
Power DVD also has region coding written into the software. |

It's amazing what you can do with a dual boot machine that has an older DVD ROM (like 6x). Each OS can have a DVD player set to a different region.
Something that should be legal is to have two DVD ROMs in your computer that's a dual boot. Set one OS DVD player and DEDICATED DVD ROM to Region 1 and set the other OS DVD Player and dedicate the other DVD ROM to Region 4. There should be no conflict! |

If your DVD-ROM is region free then it's PowerDVD's own region code. Use DVD Genie to get rid of that annoying code.
