Service Packs

Oh the joys of a microsoft service pack...

Just wondered if I have no services packs installed for windows xp do I need to install each in turn SP1, SP2... or does the latest one cover everything in the previous service packs?

Is this the same for other Microsoft products e.g. SQL Server?

Didn't know SP2 was out yet. But yes, if it were out, you can skip SP1.

Don't think it is out - just thought I'd check.

The last M$ service pack I remember that needed the previous one already installed was Office 97 SP2. It required SP1 on first.
