Help with Tiny Firewall

Hi all. I generally have bad experiences with emailing companies about tech problems. They usually take forever, or forget the question entirely. I figured I'd try this forum for a speedy reply.

I've been a fan of Tiny Personal Firewall for a long time. I recently upgraded from the old version 2 up to the trial of 4.5. So far, everything seems to work, except when I probe my ports at www.grc.com, most of the ports are not stealthed, but closed. And two ports, the IDENT port (113), and the Remote Procedure Call port (135) are reported as open. They are in use by Trillian, and one of the Windows Services (svchost.exe) I want to know how to close these ports, and possibly stealth the rest.

I consulted the Tiny Firewall FAQ, and it describes how to deny an applications access to certain ports, but the procedure isn't very detailed, and whenever I attempt it, it doesn't close them.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

why did you upgrade? are there many new features you can't live without?
I have found a lot of the time that new and improved sometimes is also more complex and conflicting.
Suggestion: uninstall the new and go back to the older version. If it was working for you don't mess with a good thing.....
good luck

understandable. but version 2 is very old. gotta be around 4-5 years. I'm sure hackers have evolved since then. In any case, I didnt mention that I checked my ports with version 2 and more ports were open/vulnerable than the newest version.

Version 2 used to report all ports as stealthed. But not anymore.

Thanks for the suggestion.
