glc, I knew some one was gonna ask this Q..the instructor didnt specify.. I did some research and found the following way.. Im on ME right now..but it didnt work. maybe i need to restart..
To manually rename the Recycle Bin (all Windows except XP): 1-Run the Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE). 2-Open HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ CLSID\ {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} (you can also select Find from the Edit menu, and search for "Recycle Bin.") 3-Double-click (Default), and type the new name. 4-Press OK and then close the Registry Editor. 5-Click on the desktop, and press F5 to refresh desktop _____ For XP it says Right click and Select Properties.. http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article02-010 |

Can't you just right click it and choose rename? Or select it and press F2 and rename it. It's worked in every version of windows i've ever used.

Last time I edited the registry to rename the bin was with Win95 - what I used on this thing was Norton Antivirus Professional 2003, it installs the norton protected bin, and the property sheet for it lets you rename it.
