Question New Partition/ dual boot help

Hi

I want to set up a dual boot with XOSL but do not know how.
Basically, want to divide my single pertitioned hdd in half keeping the existing data and OS intact, while installing Win98 onto the new partition as its own OS. I relize this will require resizing.
My questions are:
1. I have "Ranish Partition Manager," will it do everything that I will need to get the job done?
2. Step by step, how is this accomplished? I have done an win98 install before, so thats the easy part for me.

Thanks a bunch
Doxy

I haven't used Ranish in years, but there's a help file, read it.
Once you have the drive partitioned, install XOSL in the operating system that is working now.
Set it up to boot to either partition, and then set the second partition as default, install Win98.
You SHOULD be able to dual boot once it's finished.

It would be easier to install 98 on the second partition, and then run a repair install of XP/2k to get the dual boot menu.

If Ranish doesn't work for you try Partition Magic 7 or maybe version 8 is out now, anyway I used PM7 to resize a partition with win2000 on it to set up dual booting and it worked great, PM has a lot of useful tools too.

Thanks you for your replies!

I will try to get Partition Manager and do it through that utility. I need to keep this process as simple as possible because I'm not confident in what I would be doing here.
Correct me if I'm wrong, with XOSL and PM I can get the job done. Right?

Yup. Use PM to set up the partitions, then use XOSL the way I explained.
