Scanner program for .PDF files

Does any one know of a flat bed scanner program that will save a document in a .PDF format? (without going through a converter program)

Nothing cheap - I think Acrobat will interface with a scanner, otherwise you need something like PixTran and an ISIS-compatible scanner (VERY high end).

sdkfz: I have a Microtek Slimscan C6 and all the programs that I have save only in some image format or text format but no .PDF format when the programs ask to save as (bmp, jpeg, text,or other image format. Maybe the programs that came with the scannerand my PC are lite versions that don't have that option.

flanzig: sorry for the slow reply, am packng up the apartment to move from boston to your area right now.

my scanner was pretty expensive, I needed the digital ice feature for cleaning up pictures

but it does go directly to pdf, the Microtek 4850, 4800, and the 3800 all can scan to pdf and are cheaper money too

If you want something free, you will have to use a converter - FinePrint pdfFactory works real well, it installs as a printer driver. The trial version never expires, it just stamps the bottom of each page with an ad line, it's $50 to register.
