Could you offer a better explaination of what you are trying to do?

Are you starting from scratch or using an existing illustrator file?

Have you used any versions of illustrator before?

Do you have any experience in any other adobe programs? (ie photoshop?)

If you're starting for the first time, it would be best to skim though the manual to get an idea of the basics. Once you know what the tools are and where the transform options are, you should be all set to begin.

Illustrator is a very complex program. There are classes available to learn it, and online tutorials. There is no way to quickly help you I'm afraid. ForceFlow's suggestion to read over the manual is probably the best advice.
Try registering at this link, it's free and there's plenty of help from Adobe:

once you have a grasp of the basics, let us know if there is any way we can further help you......

i have taken over a years worth of classes for illustrator and i am still far from mastering it. best thing to do is the tutorials, read the manual and buy a book. if you are just trying to create a logo and thats it, then just play with the tools. you can make a lot of cool looking things with very little artistic skill or experience!
