change from FAT32 to FAT16

i have a laptop running Win98SE and a 1GB unpartitioned hard drive that is FAT32. I want to change it to FAT16. As far as i know this can only be done by using FDISK. However i would like to know how exactly i should respond to the options in FDISK especially since i do not wish to partition the drive. write to airreef@rediffmail.com

Hi airreef,

Welcome to PC Mechanic !!

Excuse my curiousity... but why do you want to revert back?

Using FDISK will wipe out the drive, requiring everything to be reinstalled from scratch.

To do this, just answer "NO" to the initial query about enabling large disk support.

Get Partition Magic.... it will do it without wiping the drive.
