Well, after my last problems with WinMX I uninstalled it and installed the latest version.
But it keeps failing at detecting Incoming TCP connections. I then configured manually the port (6699) but the same thing happens. What confuses me is that all those ppl can download from me!! But I cannot find or download anything from them!! The search feature works and displays the results no problem, but the users are never found in the Transfers window. I suspect my router (USR Broadband Router 8000A) has something to do with it, but what puzzles me it that it was working before. Any ideas?

You need more ports open.
6699 TCP 6257 UDP 7950 to 7952 TCP |

Is this the part where the setings after installation or the part where you try to do the primary connection. It does not affect winmx that muxh-only less search-that does not mean that you cannot search more results-just means that during the search/finding sources the results are less during the given time. If you want a file that badly-keep finding sources and seacrh for similiar. Its ok for me. If you are want to do primary connection make sure you have a fast internet line. It does no good at all. When you do that- your pc becomes like a hub for transfering files.
The cons: 1. You line is active all the time upload and download. Usually at almost max speeds 2. You can get in queue fast BUT most of the times transfer error/connection timeout. 3. People cannot ownload from you PRO: You get lots of search results-but still probability of getting an active download is low. The bext thing about winmx-there is no goofy rating system like Kazaa where you upload lots you get in front of line-and its not a heavy program like kazaa and it does not have spyware or annoying messages at your screen. Its way bettter

If that only affects the search speed then why can't I download anything? I do have broadband.

No, you have to forward those ports to your machine's private IP address using the Virtual Server.

You said you cannot download anything? Is there a firewall? usually it does notblock winmx.
Can you search for results? Can you connect to the network? Where is the pc-home, office? If it is in some cooperation than maybe they have their own firewall-block P2P |

Sygate is my firewall and it is configured to let WinMX do its work without problems.
I can connect to the network and browse the web, no problems. Another computer in the network is downloading things happily from kazaa. |

I am not sure. There is a weird way of passing it and let winmx open in primary connection. What you do is when you are launching winmx-quickly change from secondary to primary connection and it will connect on that connection. Do use ftp on that pc? It will slow things down. When it worked before what were the settings? What made it not work? I think it is your router. I have seen people sung the router- they can download but cannot upload.

Why deal with WinMx. I have used it and it sucks, it never has enough files. Go with KaZaA Lite, which is a hacked version of KaZaA. It has no spyware and has an awesome search feature.

Just as glc said Nuke, the second picture is what you want and just add that computers IP address that the router assigned it.
