I have a friend that has to make a DEMO for a radio station. This is what he is trying to do. Imagine that he has a round table with four people sitting around the table. He will be interviewing the people. I guess it would be somewhat like a radio host with guests.
He will be using a portable recorder. Every time that someone wants to say something he would give them the recorder. Ok after he gets everyone recorded he is going to save the recording to his computer. He wants to know about some software were he can edit the file. Add sound effects, intro music, edit pauses… stuff like that. Anyone know of any good software to do this…

I'll second Cool Edit. Very good software, and it does come in two flavors, Cool Edit 2000 which is inexpensive to the the Cool Edit Pro version.
