Question Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.1

I recently got a new Epson scanner and I would like to scan documents and save them as .PDF, can this be done through Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.1? I know the program that the scanner will allow me to save scanned files as word documents or other things but Adobe Acrobat is not listed. Or, can I save the documents as word documents then convert them to .PDF format?

You cannot use the Reader to create PDF files. You need the complete Acrobat program.

There are other programs that you can save your work as .pdf. The cheapest is probably Print Shop. I think the latest version has the capabilities. I don't know of any that will save a scanned document as a .pdf. It would be a very large file if it did.

Question is why do you want them in .pdf format?

Just a stab in the dark, but if you have a Mac or access to a mac you can save anything as a PDF as it's built into the os. Just use apple+p to print and instead of printing choose the "save as PDF" option. Instant PDF.

I thought that PDF files were smaller than word documents, I just save them as word documents then.

NO WAY TO MAC , I would rather use Windows 3.1

Actually I'm glad there is the "PC v.s. MAC" issue, otherwise the manufacturers would have a complete monopoly.
