virtual pc 5

does anyone know how to make smaller harddrives in virtual pc 5? it defaults to giving me a 16 gb hdd, but i want one around 4 gb.

On a Mac or PC?. On the Mac you just create a dynamic drive, rather than a fixed size drive. The dynamic drive resizes itself as needed.

I think it adjusts the size automatically according to how much data you install. I have a Windows 2003 installed using VirtualPC and it is taking up only 1.6 GB. If you look in the My Documents folder where it put the .vhd file, you can see how much space it is taking up on the drive.

thanks guys. i was trying to install linux lycoris to show it to someone, and it was taking forever to format the drive, like it was actually formatting 16 gigs. i checked the size, and it's sitting at 11 gigs (all i have is lycoris installed, nothing else). i just thought it was taking too long to format. thanks guys.
