The Ultimate Encoder is the one I decided to purchase 3 years ago simply to rip CD's or selected songs from a CD. It has worked like a charm.

Hey Flop and thanks!

Well I've been popping in and out for a bit. I had quite a bit on my plate at work, moved into a new house, two young children........... need I say more.

I'm starting to have a bit more time on my hands to browse a bit more and help where I can.

Nice to see most of the same people still around.

Zack,

I second the MusicMatch vote. It's what I used for the same purpose last year. However, the free trial version will not rip CDs at CD-quality sound. You will have to pay for the registered version to record at 128 kbps.

Formats come and go, as I have just had the awful experience of discovering. MP3 for me is dead, now I use AAC, but I had to re rip all my CD's again. To avoid this in the future I ripped everything to WAV and saved them and used a batch converter to make them AAC. This way I have the WAV files for the next format change and will not have to rip again. Just an idea you may want to use to save you time in the future.
