Microsoft Word 2000 problem

I've got a problem with Word 2000.

When I try to open Word, it says "Requesting virus scan" in the bottom left of the Word window and then I get a message saying "Word has encountered a problem and needs to be closed down".

I'll try reinstalling Word but does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

I don't think it's anything to do with Norton Anti-Virus.

From Word's help file:

Change the security level for macro virus protection

On the Tools menu, point to Macro, and then click Security.
Show Me

Click the Security Level tab, and then select the security level you want to use.

Do a search for "normal.dot" and delete all instances of it. Word should then open.
