Burning error @5%

Hi
I have tried two burning softwares, Nero 5599, and Roxio 5.3,
the burning prosec stops at 5%, and then I get this error msg:

E80041882: CD error - power calibration area error - [03/73/03]
E80041925: TrackWriter error - Command retry failed - [T7118]

I get this msg whatever I burn, data, audio, copy CD or Burning image.
Could any one please advaice me on a solution for this problem.
BTW, I always have one burning software installed at a time.
My burner is Plextor 24/10/40A

I have also updated the firmware to 1.04, but still got the same error.
I use at least three brands of CDs.

Call Plextor, their support is toll free and quite good.

I'm not 100% positive, but I'd say the burner has seen better days and needs to be repaired/replaced but Plextor may have some ideas.

Can you think of what you did or installed that might have made this problem happen???

I'm guessing that the burner worker when you first got it?
