Do Windows service packs add hardware support?
Example: I know that when Win2k first came out, it didn't like old hardware. Let's say you buy Win2k now with SP3. Will it have better hardware support that the version without any service packs. Hope I worded it right. Just curious. |

Possibly. One good way to find out->pop in the old hardware.
A specific example would be nice. Also, from the time Win2k and SP3 came out the hardware maker might have gotten some drivers? |

In the begging, XP would not run with many of the devices on my maschine, so I removed it. 1 year down the road, I reinstall XP, and voila, Microsoft has a driver update. Possibly the same may be said for your situation....
