"SHAREAZ" Napster look-alike
If anyone has experience with this program, please post a note. I don't wan't to install any of these 'free-ware' proggy's that leave spyware, registry-intrusive stuff on my computer. Brand new computer!
I've used WinMX in the past, because I've been told its free of any bad 'spyware' etc. also, how do you like the way it performs, for music, etc. Thanks for any and all responses! Bruce |

Kazza??
I read in PC Magazine that Kazza was one to avoid! Because of the spyware, and even the inability to fully remove the program, should you want to,(very 'intrusive', stuff left in the registry, etc) that it should definitely AVOIDED ('Kazza'..!)
I'm more interested in Shareaz, but I welcome any more input on 'Kazza' also--was PC Mag wrong on this one?? My kids want a new program(They don't like WinMx anymore, and I don't understand why..?) Thanks all, for your responses! Hope to hear more. Bruce |

Yep, Kazza lite is not like its non-lite counterpart...Not even made by the same people, its kazaa with all of the crap ripped out of it, just the basic program.

BRVB,
If anyone is paranoid about spyware and such, its me. It took me awhile to try Kazaa Lite and when I did, I ran Adaware and Spybot everytime I used it. To date, no spyware or other intrusive bad boys and I can d/l songs without a worry. Carl |

Yeah, what's the big reason for wanting Shareaz? Kazaa Lite is a great P2P program without spyware and I'm sure it can do everything Shareaz does.

Ok, I installed it on a clean system.
run spybot before opening the program 0 found opened shareaza did a few searches. run spybot again zero problem found during install, it gave options to which network you want to connect too. Gnutella2 was automatic you could add ebonkey2000 and you could add gnutella1 searching has given me great hits and I have found all I was looking for, but i have not got any downloads going yet. Might be people just not sharing what i searched for but it is odd. I like the interface though. |
