Motherboard Software

I have a question for you guys

What do you think about the software that comes with along with a motherboard....Is it worth installing I have an asus board that came with a disc. I havent run it yet, and not sure if its really worth it. I mean I got my computer running fine and dont know if i try anything on the disk if its gonna ruin things.

Should I install the software?? Or just leave well enough alone

depends on the OS, mostly it would have drivers for different OS's but I woudl perfer to download the newest from the web if I needed them.

some of the CD's come with antivirus software as a nice perk.

If I'm not mistaken XP would just ask for a disk if it could not find a driver right?

If it comes with a nice DVD player such as WinDVD like mine did then yes, but other wise most of it isn't worth messing with. If your OS is XP there are plenty of update drivers out for XP and XP SP-1 so you might want to see if there are any updates and your best bet is to go to the manufactures website for the updates.
