I am using xp-here is the problem- I have set mozilla my default browser, and I have placed a favorite tab at the start menu. Now here is the problem:
I noticed that all the links in the favorites(that yellow star icon) are from my IE( of course I already transfer to mozilla-the hard way) then when I use mozilla, and bookmark a site- It doesn't appear in the favorites list. I have to keep opening IE and bookmark it that way. Then when I use the favorite bookmark from the start menu- it will open to mozilla. So how do I change the favorites so that it will cater to ONLY mozilla?

Because it is Microsoft's own program, Windows only places IE favorites in the start menu. Part of the OS programming is the integration of the browser with the start menu, which is probably coding to which those Mozilla folks don't have access.
However, when you chose Mozilla as your preferred browser, all links are opened in that program. So, basically, you can only (as far as I know) manipulate the start menu favorites with IE. So if you really need your links there you'll have to do it in IE, but they'll still open in your preferred browser. And they say their IE integration in Windows is not unfair to competing browsers! |

Krokadil is right. The Favorites directory is controlled by Windows and IE. There is no easy way to get websites you bookmark in Mozilla to the Favorites. You either have to continue to manually move the links over, or just stop using the Favorites directory.

You could create a shortcut to your bookmarks.html file and drop it on the desktop and/or the quick launch bar.
You can also run Mozilla with the sidebar open. |
