Floppy Drive

I did a clean install ,everything went ok until I opened Outlook Express. When I click to open an e-mail the floppy drive starts running and I have to hit ctrl+alt+del to get it to end task. Something new to me. Anyone have a fix? Thanks

What other programs did you have running at the time? What kind of background programs are you running on your system?

What are your system specs? Home built or store bought?

Windows 98se ,Outlook Express 6 , 40 gig western digital hd , 512 mb ddr . ESC k7vta3 mobo , Radeon 7000 graphics , AMD xp 2100 processor ,Ethernet cable. The only thing I had updated was the Outlook Express when this happened . I have disabled the floppy for now. I may reinstall win 98se over it self and see if that helps . I should have posted all the info the first time. Thanks again

Clear your Documents folder using the start menu and taskbar properties.

I downloaded tweakiu and removed document folder in the start menu and cleared everything from the taskbar properties.Didn't help. Now I'm getting the error internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to shut down.Sorry for the inconvenience. I have disabled error reporting in th registry if I have that right . reg.,machine,software,microsoft,internet explorer ,main, create new d word name it IEWatsonEnabled and set it to 0. Don't know if that is the correct way but I don't get the message now. Thanks
