need help with ghost recon install

Have ghost recon for some time and works fine. Wished to install mission packs but error message states ghost recon must be installed first! Did have some problems with original install. gave to me by friend who had burned to a CD. Default unzip to a temp folder. when click install it tried to install in same temp folder. Had to create folder under program files and then unzip and install there. Did not show on start menu so set up short cut there manually and been working great since. Now cannot install mission packs. TIA for any help/advice.

the cd may not have got all of the contents to install properly

that could be the case. If so where might I find the needed components? thanks for the reply.

u could just download a cd patch of it
